This Great Horned Owl was painted from a photo I took myself. Interestingly I was not on a nature walk deep in the forest when I took this photo. I was standing on my front porch in my bathrobe one early morning taking pictures of an angry owl who was standing on my neighbor's inner-city St Paul driveway. This was not the first time or the last we'd see him hunting around the bird feeder.
